Private Network Drive

What Is It?

Private Network Drives are file directories stored on the CBSB server that are specific to an individual. You can map directories to your computer and access them while you are connected to the CBSB network. This could mean you're machine is connected via an ethernet cable or is connected via the CBSB VPN. Private Drives are backed up every 15 minutes, so you can utilize them to use less space on your computer without having a fear of losing data.

Who Is Eligible to Use It?

Faculty and staff are eligible to use network drives.

Where Can I Get It?

Private Drives are created for every faculty/staff member who joins CBSB. If you are having trouble with yours or have questions, click the "Request Help" button in the upper right. If you want to create a Shared Drive for your team to collaborate, see the Shared Network Drive request.

How Do I Use It?

When you are connected via ethernet, the private drives with automatically map themselves to your computer. For help mapping drives while connected to VPN, see this knowledge article.

How Much Does It Cost?

There is no fee affiliated with Private Network Drives under 100GB. After 100GB, shared drives incur a cost of $1000/GB. There is no fee for troubleshooting or questions regarding your private drive.
