Shared Network Drive

What Is It?

Shared Network Drives are file directories stored on the CBSB server. You can map directories specific to your department, team, or group to your computer and access them while you are connected to the CBSB network. This could mean you're machine is connected via an ethernet cable or is connected via the CBSB VPN. Network Drives are backed up every 15 minutes, so you can utilize them to collaborate with your team without having a fear of losing data.

Who Is Eligible to Use It?

Faculty and staff are eligible to use network drives.

Where Can I Get It?

Click "Request Shared Drive" in the upper right. From here, you can request to add someone to an existing shared drive, you can request a new shared drive or a new hierarchy within your existing shared drive, or you can request help with any issues you may be having regarding your shared drive.

How Do I Use It?

When you are connected via ethernet, the shared drives with automatically map themselves to your computer. For help mapping shared drives while connected to VPN, see this knowledge article.

How Much Does It Cost?

There is no fee affiliated with Shared Network Drives under 100GB. After 100GB, shared drives incur a cost of $1000/GB. There is no fee for troubleshooting or adding users to a shared drive.
